Activity 2: Weekend Plans
Read the text messages between two friends, Aliya and Sarah. Notice how they use the phrasal verbs in conversation.
Sarah: Hey Aliya! Do you want to hang out this weekend?
Aliya: I would love to, but I have to catch up on some English homework. I keep putting it off!
Sarah: Oh no, don't give up! You can finish it. After you finish, we can go to the new cafe in the city center. You need to check it out.
Aliya: That sounds amazing. I always look forward to our coffee dates. Did you find out what time they open?
Sarah: Yes, at 10 AM. By the way, I decided to take up yoga on Sunday mornings. I really need to work out more.
Aliya: That's a great idea! Just make sure you don't run out of energy before we meet for coffee!
